A survey by Anesiva found that 60 percent of moms and dads of children under the age of 10 experience stress or anxiety when taking their children for a visit to the doctor or hospital that involves a needlestick procedure (IV insertion, blood draw or inoculation). The survey also found that only 29 percent of parents believe they always know how to properly prepare their children for a visit to the doctor or hospital that might include a needlestick.30
